چکیده

Abstract Sheathed timber frame shear walls (STFSW) with strong anchorage have recently been studied to be used as the main lateral force resisting system in buildings. The first part of this research project highlighted enhancement stiffness and strength STFSWs comparison established configuration light-frame under monotonic horizontal loading. In paper, in-plane seismic behavior was further investigated by means quasi-static cyclic loading tests on large-scale walls. boundary conditions specimens were considered more realistically applying a combination vertical bending moment top addition ISO 21581, tested new protocol especially developed for low-to-medium seismicity regions. showed marginally higher resistance Nevertheless, terms ultimate displacement, they did not evidently perform well when subjected Withdrawing staples failure stapled connections resulting out-of-plane displacement sheathing panels, which clearly observed 3D digital image correlation measurement system. low-to- moderate highly influential their capacity.

Shear and Flexural Stiffnesses of Reinforced Concrete Shear Walls Subjected to Cyclic Loading

Seismic analyses of concrete structures under maximum-considered earthquakes require the use of reduced stiffness accounting for cracks and degraded materials. Structural walls, different to other flexural dominated components, are sensitive to both shear and flexural stiffness degradations. Adoption of the gross shear stiffness for walls in seismic analysis prevails particularly for the design...

response of coupled-precast shear walls subjected to cyclic loads

large panel precast structures are analyzed based on the connection rigidity. however, the connections undergo nonlinear and inelastic response, when subjected to seismic loads. thus, to study the actual behavior of structure, the connection nonlinearity should be implemented in the joints. in this paper, three conventional connection types are modeled based on the envelope of their cyclic resp...

experimental study of steel plate shear walls with composite steel infill platesunder cyclic loading

in this paper, nonlinear behavior of composite steel plate shear wall systems, in which steel infill plate is strengthened by fiber reinforced polymer (frp) layers, are experimentally investigated. tests are designed to evaluate the effect of glass-frp layers, layers number of gfrp and orientation of gfrp layers on the stiffness, shear strength, cumulative dissipated energy and other seismic pa...

Experimental Investigation on Cyclic Behavior of Butterfly-shaped Links Steel Plate Shear Walls

An innovative type called "butterfly-shaped links steel plate shear wall (BLSPSW)" was proposed as a lateral load resisting system. In this novel system, by creating butterfly-shaped links in the four sides of the web plate, the lateral load resisting mechanism is not the development of a diagonal tension field on the web plate (similar to Conventional SPSWs), but the capacity of the system is ...

Behavior of Steel-Sheathed Shear Walls Subjected to Seismic and Fire Loads.

A series of tests was conducted on six 2.7 m × 3.7 m shear wall specimens consisting of cold-formed steel framing sheathed on one side with sheet steel adhered to gypsum board and on the opposite side with plain gypsum board. The specimens were subjected to various sequences of simulated seismic shear deformation and fire exposure to study the influence of multi-hazard interactions on the later...
